Student Visa, AusAID or Defence (Subclass 576)
Welcome to Australia Immigration Visa Services. We provide information about the Temporary Student
Visa, AusAID or Defence category.
AusAID is the Australian Agency for International Development, and they provide scholarships for overseas
students wishing to study in Australia who lack adequate funding. Sponsorship by the Australian Department
of Defence can provide full support, or part financial support - it varies. You will still have to provide
evidence that your standard of education is at the level required by the education institute where you
plan to study. The course must be at a registered school.
There are no charges for this visa application, but you will be required to provide proof to the Australian
Immigration Department that you can pay for any expenses not covered by the student scholarships - this will
also mean expenses to cover your family members, if they are included in the application for a visa. So this
is a cheap visa, but the documents needed are complicated.
We also provide links and contacts for applying for the scholarships, which are very generous to overseas students.
